The Centre for the Less Good Idea, based in Maboneng, Johannesburg, is putting out a call for two full-time positions — ADMINISTRATOR and ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR.
These roles carry a strong focus on administration, planning, organisation and communications.

The positions will be Johannesburg-based and will likely begin in mid-February 2025. The salary and structure of each position will be negotiated with the successful applicants.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Updating organisation’s database
Tracking proposals and possible engagements and responding to organisational emails
Collating and processing applications
Communication with programme applicants and participants
Management of booking systems for SO monthly programmes
Management of selected SO monthly programmes
General monitoring of all organisational programming
Collating artist information
Assisting with all internal and external communications:
Taking minutes during meetings and creating action lists
Liaising with internal and external organisational teams, local and international artists, and partnering organisations
Scheduling: tracking and updating organisational calendar, assisting in scheduling meetings and monitoring weekly schedules for organisational team
Bookkeeping
Archiving of all organisational print materials
Assisting with travel logistics
Assisting with visa application processes
Management of office logistics
Guest liaising
Assisting with internal and external communications:
Taking minutes during meetings and creating action lists
Schedule meetings, manage calendar and travel bookings
Liaising with international inviting organisations, international producers and individual artists
Transcription of voice notes, editing of recorded meetings and follow-up research towards academic texts and publications
Tracking and monitoring of project statuses
Writing proposals and project summaries
Collaborating on plotting international tour footprints and production needs
Collaborating on budget forecasts and company management needs
Patronage relations and reporting
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint/Keynote, Google Docs & Dropbox
Minimum of 3 years work experience
Ability to work collaboratively
Must have their own working laptop and cellphone
Excellent writing, communication and organisational skills
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about the Arts with a good knowledge of contemporary arts across the disciplines
