In 2024, SO | The Academy for the Less Good Idea launches two new open programmes aimed at professional artists, PRACTICE & TÊTE-À-TÊTE.

PRACTICE is a series of FREE, open training sessions for professional artists looking to fine-tune or refine their practice, as well as develop new skills.
There will be one Voice session and one Movement session per month, led by different industry professionals and educators working in the realms of performance and the broader fields of embodied practice.
To date, PRACTICE | Voice facilitators have included Sbusiso Shozi, Nhlanhla Mahlangu, Fiona Ramsay, Bongile Gorata Lecoge-Zulu, Ziza Muftic, Anathi Conjwa, Dorothy Ann Gould, Sizwe Mondlane, Xolisile Bongwana, Neo Muyanga, Simphiwe Skhakhane, Pertunia Msani, Khutjo Green, Ziza Muftic, Lindo Thabede, Alex Halligey, Robyn Paterson, Gavin Matthys, Thuli Magubane, Anathi Conjwa, Sibahle Mangena, Katlego Letsholonyane & Bheki Mkwane.

Aimed at practising artists across the disciplines of visual art, performance, literature and more, TÊTE-À-TÊTE offers a once-off, one-on-one engagement with industry professionals that allows artists to speak about their work and process, and get advice from leading artistic practitioners.
These free 30-minute sessions allow artists to gain fresh perspectives on their work, and to receive individual guidance or feedback on their ideas.
