Xolisile Bongwana is an award-winning dancer and teacher.
Having toured the world with his craft, Bongwana is interested in the ways dance can serve as a platform and vehicle for social and cultural matters. Through his penchant for innovative and collaborative work, Bongwana has worked on productions with the likes of dancers, choreographers and theatre practitioners Robyn Orlin, James Ngcobo, and Gregory Maqoma over the years.
Season 5 of The Centre for the Less Good Idea sees Bongwana collaborating on an 11-minute epic by João Orecchia that explores musical personality and instrumentation through the restrictions of sound, time, and composition.
