Taking place 24 - 28 April 2019
Programmes starting at 6:30 and 8pm daily
Co-curated by Phala Ookeditse Phala and David April, Season 5 of The Centre for the Less Good Idea sees traditional forms of art and performance being re-imagined through free-spirited, transdisciplinary collaboration and the alternative realities made possible by short form staged performances called EPICS and VR 360degree films in the next iteration of The Invisible Exhibition.
Ann Roberts is the co-director of The Mixed Reality Workshop (TMRW) with a strong background in visual art and film.
Roberts is interested in the complexities that arise through the meeting of art and technology, and the ways in which these complexities to can be incorporated into the work itself, rather than being viewed as barriers to the final product. During the course of Season 5, Roberts has been working with various artists and collaborators to facilitate a greater degree of play with the Virtual and Augmented Realities made available through art and technology, and has been embracing the different opportunities that the mediums offer.
Having worked with The Centre for the Less Good Idea in Season 2 for the first iteration of the Invisible Exhibition, Roberts returns to Season 5 to collaborate on and contribute towards both the second iteration of the Invisible Exhibition, and a series of 5-minute 360 VR films.
